We all need something to look forward to ...
It doesn't matter what that something is ...
How big or how small ...
It doesn't matter what age one is ...
It is how we think about life!!
Some people may have a physical disability, or be impaired in other ways, but all can take pleasure from life, of some kind, and in some way. If a person we care about is unable to think for themselves, or take the action required, then it is up to us to provide moments of delight for them. Not only does this bring happy times for them ... but gives joy to ones self in seeing them content!
In my past work and personal life I have seen "older" people who complain that there is nothing to look forward to anymore.
I am sorry for anyone that thinks like this, because I see it differently .... there are still many things to enjoy! Sure, as we age we may not be able to do all the things that we used to do. But there is still so much we can do! And it can be the simple things that bring the most pleasure, like- spending time with a child, and telling them a story; getting outside in nature, and observing the wonder of it; chatting with a friend with whom one shares happy memories ... there is plenty to enjoy if one really thinks about it ... and chooses?
Live life ... it never ends ... it just changes!!!
