I had the most amazing night out on Saturday September 21st 2013!
I was invited to a special event, called the 'Divine Feminine Celebration.' I knew a little about it from my research online, but wasn't exactly sure what would happen. I knew that it was to be a sacred ceremony to honour the divine feminine ... and mother earth.
The celebration was held on a beautiful property, out of town ... just perfect for something of this kind. I travelled with my friend, and on arrival we were greeted warmly by the host, and met the other women ... there were around thirty of us. We were given a candle, and told to proceed to the place where the ceremony would be.
We walked along a track through a paddock lit by fire sticks, and arrived at the 'circle' on the edge of a plantation of lovely bush trees. Flower essence drops were placed in our mouths, and we rinsed our hands in a bowl of rose petal water before we entered the 'sacred circle.' Chairs were placed around a stoned ringed fire, and we sat down.
A woman who is a Sharman, led the proceedings. With out divulging too much of what followed, we drummed, danced, and sang under the stars. Venus was huge and bright above us, sparkling with delight it seemed at the women gathered there ... on this night of the Spring Equinox. At one stage I looked up to see a wispy cloud framing the star ... just like a picture. When the full moon rose, with its soft golden glow, a wave of peace passed through me, and I am sure it was felt by the others too. I was told by the Sharman, that spiritually, the moon is of feminine energy.
The ceremony is about connecting with the feminine, and balancing, as well as softening the masculine energy. It is about giving love and nurturing to ones self --- and releasing any emotional blockages that stop one from living a whole life. Then in turn giving love to others in the world, and respecting all of nature, including the earth. When we fully love our selves, we can do this --- that is finding the Goddess within.
It was such an exquisite occasion, and one that I will always remember. I feel privileged to have been part of this divine event!
Much love,
Jo St. Claire
